Terms and Conditions

The content on this page is Days in Sweden Terms and Conditions (ToC). See bottom of page for latest modification date. It is vital that everyone using our services read the content below and understand that what is being said here is what matters in case of disputes and the like. If you have questions on how to interpret the ToC, please contact us.

Important: Minimum reservation period when booking with Days in Sweden: Two (2) nights.

The process of booking an accommodation
Once we have received your booking request, we shall check with the host to verify that your desired accommodation is available. In order to confirm your booking, please send us your booking fee (equivalent to 25% of the total cost of your intended stay) within four (4) days.

When we receive your booking fee, we shall then email you your host’s full name and contact information. It is important that you contact your host in order to re-confirm the building entry code included in our email, as well as provide information concerning your arrival.

Booking fee
When sending us the booking fee always include the booking number you received from us. Note that there is a difference between the booking code for an object and the number you get prior to sending us the booking fee. Also, any costs (bank fees and the like) related to sending us the booking fee should be payed by you as the quest(s).

Numbers explained

  • Booking code = The code for a certain object, like SCE2 for the double room on Narvavägen.
  • Booking fee = The amount of money that you pay to Days in Sweden.
  • Booking number = A number included in the reply your get from us when you booking request is being processed. Include this booking number when you pay the booking fee.

Discounts
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide discounts except in certain cases for long-term rentals.

Check-in and check-out
As a general rule, your accommodation will be available from 6 p.m. on your arrival date to 11 a.m. on your departure date, unless special arrangements have been made with your host in advance.

Upon arrival, you will be required to identify yourself (with a passport or I.D. card), and pay the balance due to your host in cash in Swedish Kronor (SEK). Hosts do not accept travellers’ cheques or credit cards. If you arrive after 10 p.m., an additional surcharge of SEK 150 will be payable to your host.

Breakfast
In the case of room rentals (B&B, studio, guesthouse), the price of your accommodation generally includes a continental breakfast on the first morning (tea/coffee, milk, cereals, juice, bread, butter, cheese, marmalade), unless otherwise stated in the description/details for that particular accommodation.

Cleaning
When you rent an apartment, a house or a studio (an accommodation where you have the whole place for yourself) there is an additional cleaning fee to be payed to the host. The cleaning fee is 500 SEK. You also have the option to negotiate with your host on the cleaning issue. Make sure your host has all the necessary equipment ready to be used by you and that you leave the accommodation in the same (or better) condition in which it was provided to you upon arrival.

When you rent a room / stay at an B&B (an accommodation where you share the property with your host), your room will be cleaned by the host every 7th day of your stay (including change of sheets and towels).

Liability
Days in Sweden acts solely as an intermediary between hosts and guests and takes no responsibility for actions or events beyond our control (e.g. noise, accidents, theft, insects, etc.).
Days in Sweden is not the provider of your accommodation and has no control over the actions of your host.

If you have any complaints, it is important that you immediately report them to your host for remedy or potential compensation. Complaints sent after your stay cannot be accepted.

Should your booked accommodation become unavailable before your arrival due to unforeseen circumstances, Days in Sweden is liable to provide you with alternate accommodation of equal standard. If Days in Sweden is unable to find alternate accommodation, your booking fee will be refunded. However, if for whatever reason you decide not to accept the alternate accommodation offered by Days in Sweden, your booking fee will be retained.

Security deposit
In the case of house or apartment rental, a security deposit may be required, payable to your host upon arrival. If this is the case, such information will be provided in the accommodation description. Provided that no damage has occurred, the deposit will be returned upon departure. All guests are strongly urged to take out full travel insurance to cover any potential damage or accidents.

Cancellation policy
If you must cancel your reservation, please inform us as soon as possible so that we can contact your host. For reservations cancelled in writing not later than 30 days before the intended check-in date, our deposit fee will be refunded minus a SEK 200 cancellation fee. For reservations cancelled later than 30 days before the arrival date our booking fee is not refundable. If your accommodation is not cancelled at least 24 hours before your intended arrival date, you are obliged to pay for two (2) nights’ accommodation, which is also the minimum reservation period when booking with Days in Sweden.

Special needs
Guests with special needs are requested to mention this at the time of booking.

Living in someone else’s home
All rooms are in private homes. Whether renting a room, apartment or home, you will be expected to show respect for your host and your accommodation, as well as to respect any security arrangements or instructions given by your host (regarding keys, locking of doors, closing of windows, etc.). As a general rule, smoking is not allowed in any of the accommodations listed at Days in Sweden. Any exceptions will be indicated in the accommodation description. If this rule is not respected, the guest will be liable for any potential damage or cleaning required after departure.
